Request for Bid
The City of College Park Power Department is accepting bids for the purchase 15 KV overhead and underground line construction material and equipment. The bid includes primary and secondary wire and cable of various sizes; pole framing material; PVC conduit and fittings; wire hardware and accessories; overhead and underground switching devices; and pre-cast concrete poles, pull boxes, cubicles, and pads. All bids must be received by the College Park Power Department by close of 2:00 p.m. local time, Friday, September 7, 2007. All bids, upon receipt, become the property of the City of College Park. Beginning Monday, 08/27/07, bid specifications may be obtained from the College Park Power Department at 1886 Harvard Avenue, College Park, Georgia 30337. All questions should be directed to College Park Power Department, Steve Bryant, Assistant Director, 404-669-3772. The City of College Park reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

The City of College Park is accepting Competitive Sealed Bids from qualified vendors for list project and/or services. Sealed proposals will be received no later than Friday, September 7, 2007 at 2:00 pm at the City of College Park Purchasing Department, 3667 Main Street, College Park Georgia, 30337 at which time they will be opened and publicly read aloud. Bids received after the above date and time, or in any other location other than the Purchasing Department will not be considered.
The City of College Park reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities and re-advertise. All Minority, Woman and Small Businesses are strongly encouraged to apply. Only responsive proposals that are determined to meet the requirements and criteria set forth by the City of College Park will be considered.

Facade Grant Program
The City of College Park is accepting application for the 2006 Façade Grant Program. The purpose of the program is to help businesses in improving the exterior appearance of their storefronts. The Program will reimburse a business for no more than 50% of the façade improvement cost, or not to exceed $5,000. Projects totaling less than $1,000 are not eligible. The Façade Grant Program funds can only be used for reimbursement of approved façade improvements.
Eligible improvements may include:
1. Signage
2. Awnings & Entrance Canopies
3. Landscaping
4. Windows
5. Painting, resurfacing or refurbishing of existing facades
6. Installation of a new façade or reconstruction of an existing façade
APPLICATION DEADLINES*
1. Businesses located on Main Street and Virginia Ave.
2. Businesses located along the Old National Highway Corridor
*All businesses applying for the Façade Grant Program must be located within the city limits of the City of College Park and must have a valid business license from the City at the time an application is submitted.
The Façade Grant Program reserves the right to refuse reimbursement in whole or in part for improvements that:
-Do not conform to the design guidelines,
-Do not conform to the proposal submitted with the application,
-Are not commensurate with the workmanship and costs that are customary in the industry,
-Are not completed within one hundred twenty 120 days from the date application is approved.
Misrepresentations, falsification of information or submission of fraudulent documentation during review of an application or after it has been approved shall be grounds for the City of College Park to reject an application and/or refuse reimbursement under the program. Before submitting an application, you must have written permission from the property owner to participate in the program.
If a business located in the above-mentioned locations is interested in applying for the Façade Grant Program, an application can be obtained from the Development Department in City Hall on Monday-Friday from 8am to 5pm. Please contact the following individuals with any questions:

City Testing of Early Warning Sirens
The City of College Park wants to prepare for the safety of its community and visitors. The community is protected by an outdoor early warning siren system, with five sirens around the city to alert the public in the event of weather-related or other emergencies. The City of College Park tests the sirens every Wednesday at 12:00 PM (noon). It should be noted that the sirens broadcast audio messages to the public as well. If these sirens are heard at any other time, there is the possibility of a weather-related or other emergency that could require the public to take precautions. Instructions will be broadcast through the audio messages.
Southern Hope Humane Society/Fulton County Animal Services "FIX-EM FREE" Program
It's important to control the animal population through spaying and neutering. Here are the links to the Fix Em Free program which offers free spaying/neutering and vaccinations for pets belonging to Fulton County residents who can't afford the cost of the procedures.
