Please read the following instructions to help you complete the survey.

You will need to view pictures as part of the survey. Both the pictures and the survey form are linked to this website. In order to complete the survey, you will need to print out the survey form or download the survey form to your computer. You can drop off the completed survey form at City Hall, or, mail or fax the form back to The Collaborative Firm. We appreciate your taking the time to participate in the survey.  Address and phone number information for The Collaborative Firm, the consulting firm hired to update the Comprehensive Plan, can be found by clicking the "Contact Information" button above.

What is a Visual Preference Survey?

The Visual Preference Survey is an opportunity for you to rate pictures of various types of development. The survey supplies valuable citizen input for the Future Land Use Plan by helping people define what they like and dislike about what they see around them.  The City of College Park will be using the survey responses to assist in developing policies for the Future Land Use Plan. The Visual Preference Survey is a way for residents to have their input in the Future Land Use Plan process.

You will be shown 100 pictures of residential, commercial, community facility, and transportation developments. Some pictures of College Park are included in this survey and you should rate these on how you feel about these areas of your City.

How do I complete the Survey?

Please follow these steps:

 

  1. Read the directions completely.
  2. Click on “Print The Survey” button above to access the survey form.
  3. Print out the form and follow the directions.
  4. Click on the “View Survey Pictures” button above to complete the survey.
  5. Return the completed survey either in person to College Park City Hall or via mail or fax to The Collaborative Firm, contact info is below.

Please rate each picture using the Visual Preference Survey Form.  You will need to print out the form to do this survey or download the survey form to your computer.

If you think the picture is positive or good, rate it between +1 to +3, with +3 being the most positive.  If you think the picture is negative or bad, rate it between -1 to -3, with -3 being the most negative.  The number 0 is neutral.

Each slide has a number, please be sure you keep the number of the slide on the screen and survey form together.

Please rate your first impression or emotion you feel about each image.  There are no wrong answers!
